B.E.S.T. is selling swim bags for $5.00.  If interested in purchasing one of these bags, you may stop

by the office to purchase one.  If paying by check, make checks payable to B.E.S.T.

Concessions will be open each Friday after school - only snacks will be sold.

Smencils (smelly pencils) will be sold before and after school - cost is 50 cents each.  Proceeds will go

toward Student Rewards.

In an effort to cut down on mailing costs, a new procedure for the monthly newsletter will begin with the October newsletter, however, the Aug./Sept.  newsletter will be mailed.  We will be sending the menu/newsletter with the students and posting it on the Junior High web page.  Information will be posted at www.morrisonschools.org.

Lanyards are available for sale in the office.  This is a convenient way to keep track of lunch cards.  The
cost is $2.00.

Volleyball Games:

All games listed on the Junior HighLIGHTS calendar will begin at 4:00 P.M. unless otherwise noted. Good luck to our 7th and 8th grade Volleyball Colts!

On the first day of school, students received the 2010-2011 Handbook. Parents and students are highly encouraged to read through the first portion of the book, as these pages contain MJHS rules and guidelines and other helpful information. Students, teachers and PARENTS are required to sign the form stating the handbook was received and reviewed.  Handbooks may also be viewed online at www.morrisonschools.org/jhhandbook.

From the Principal’s Desk:

How to make the most out of your junior high years: Take time to learn about your school. Every junior high school has its own calendar of events, attendance and tardy policies, rules and people to go to for help. If you look around your school, you’ll find teachers, a principal, counselor, librarians, tutors, secretary and custodians. ALL of these people at MJHS are here to help you have the best junior high experience possible. At some point, you are probably going to have a question concerning your locker, a class, another student or a teacher. In most cases you can get your question answered or your problem taken care of by going to the right place. However, adults at MJHS cannot help you if you do not ask. We love to help, so don’t be afraid to ask when you need some assistance.

Parents, please remember that dropping off students in the parking lot at MJHS is not allowed from 7:45 a.m. – 8:10 a.m. The parking lot can be very dangerous and most times students are not watching out for cars. Please drop off your child on Academic Drive.

Mr. Darryl Hogue

Absences

*Parents are asked to come to the office to sign the release form or send a note of explanation in advance of a pre-arranged absence.
*It is necessary for the person picking up a student to come to the office to sign the log. Sign out is for the protection of the student.
*If a student is not in school, parents or guardians are expected to call MJHS by 9:00 a.m. See the Student Handbook.
*Medical Release: in the case of surgery, orthopedic injuries, and extended illnesses, a note is required from your student's physician regarding activity for recess, required gym classes, and sports participation.
