“Easy As Pie” fundraiser pick-up will be April 12th
at 3:00 – 4:30 PM at MJHS.
Saturday, March 19 MJHS hosts Junior High Music Contest. This is an all day event. MJHS Band will perform at 8:25, 6th grade choir will perform at 10 am, and 7th - 8th grade mixed choir will perform at 11:20am. There will be a concession stand open all day with breakfast, lunch and snack items for sale. Music students are STONGLY ENCOURAGED to stay the entire day to listen to your own classmates and the students from other participating schools.
You may apply for free/reduced lunch anytime during the school year. Forms are available in the junior high office.
Lanyards are available for sale in the office. This is a convenient way to keep track of lunch cards. The
Attendance is the key to school success:
Parents; it is not always easy to
determine when a child should stay home when they are not feeling
well. Our school nurse suggests the following guidelines. Parents;
please keep students at home if they have:
Fever of 100 degrees
and above
Norovirus
symptoms: diarrhea, vomiting and stomach pain, body aches,
headache, low grade fever (children & staff experiencing these
symptons should stay home until 24 hours after symptons have
stopped.
Strep Throat – may
return after 24 hours on antibiotic and 24 hours with no fever
Chickenpox – may
return when all lesions are dry
MEDICAL RELEASE
In the case of surgery, orthopedic injuries, and extended illnesses, a note is required from your student’s physician regarding activity for recess, required gym classes, and sports participation.
Please minimize family vacations during the school year or communicate with the school so that work can be provided in advance. The school will also be notifying parents when their child has missed more than ten days. I know that school attendance can be improved when the school and parents combine forces.
