RECORD OF MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION

MORRISON COMMUNITY UNIT DISTRICT #6

December 13, 2005

A special meeting of the Board of Education of Morrison Community Unit District #6, County of Whiteside, State of Illinois, was duly called and held at 6:30 P.M. at Morrison High School Superintendent’s Office in said district on December 13, 2005. On roll call, the following were present: Kent Forth, Kevin Schlueter, Joy Tegeler, Steve Swanstrom and Sally Gray. Board Members Ellen Smith and Dave Boyles was absent. Also present were Superintendent Dr. Jody Ware, High School Principal Janet Ward, Junior High Principal Darryl Hogue, Bob Sondegroth from the Whiteside Area Career Center, Kaye Obalil, student parents and Recording Secretary Wendy Krajnovich.

Board of Education Comments - none

CLOSED SESSION

Motion: Tegeler; Second: Forth; To enter into closed session for the purpose of discussion of student discipline matters. Ayes – Swanstrom, Forth, Tegeler, Schlueter, Gray. Nays – none; motion carried.

8:30 P.M.

Motion: Schlueter; Second; Tegeler; To conclude the closed session and return to open session. Ayes – 5; Nays – none; motion carried.

Action from Closed Session

Motion: Tegeler; Second: Swanstrom; To expel Junior High School Student #280820-06 for the remainder of the 2005-2006 school year and the first semester of the 2006-2007 school year. Student #280820-06 could be eligible to return to school at the beginning of the second semester in January 2007.

Motion: Forth; Second: Schlueter; To expel High School Student #260315-06 for the remainder of the 2005-2006 school year. If certain requirements are completed to the Board’s satisfaction, Student #260315-06 could be eligible to return to school at the beginning of the 2006-2007 school year.

Motion: Tegeler; Second: Forth; To expel High School Student #270625-06 for the remainder of the 2005-2006 school year. If certain requirements are completed to the Board’s satisfaction, Student #270625-06 could be eligible to return to school at the beginning of the 2006-2007 school year.

Motion: Forth; Second: Schlueter; To expel High School Student #270163-06 for the remainder of the 2005-2006 school year. If certain requirements are completed to the Board’s satisfaction, Student #270163-06 could be eligible to return to school at the beginning of the 2006-2007 school year.
