RECORD OF MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION

MORRISON COMMUNITY UNIT DISTRICT #6

November 29, 2005

A special meeting of the Board of Education of Morrison Community Unit District #6, County of Whiteside, State of Illinois, was duly called and held at 6:00 P.M. at Morrison Junior High School in said district on November 29, 2005. On roll call, the following were present: Dave Boyles, Kent Forth, Ellen Smith, Joy Tegeler, and Sally Gray. Board Members Steve Swanstrom and Kevin Schlueter arrived shortly after roll call was taken. Also present were Superintendent Dr. Jody Ware, facilitator Lynn Feaver, members of the Strategic Planning Committee and Recording Board Secretary Wendy Krajnovich.

COMMUNICATIONS/PUBLIC COMMENTS

Superintendent Report

Dr. Ware reported that the truck driven by Roger Kallenbach was loaded and leaving that night for Slidell, LA, with the donated desks and computer carts for St. Tammany Junior High. He was expected to arrive on Wednesday night. Over $1,400.00 was raised by local churches, and FS donated another $200 to pay for fuel and expenses. She pointed out that both business partnerships and volunteers are part of the strategic plan, and here was an example of both in action.

INFORMATIONAL REPORTS

The Board then went into the final Strategic Planning session led by Dr. Jody Ware and facilitated by Lynn Feaver. In addition to the Board, the planning team included staff members, parents, community members, and high school students. The committee members again worked in groups and the completed Plan on a Page will be a guiding document until it is revised again in 2008.
