RECORD OF MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION

MORRISON COMMUNITY UNIT DISTRICT #6

January 17, 2006

A special meeting of the Board of Education of Morrison Community Unit District #6, County of Whiteside, State of Illinois, was duly called and held at 6:00 P.M. at Morrison Junior High School Media Center in said district on January 17, 2006. On roll call, the following were present: Dave Boyles, Kent Forth, Kevin Schlueter, Joy Tegeler, Steve Swanstrom and Sally Gray. Board Member Ellen Smith was absent. Also present were Superintendent Dr. Jody Ware, Junior High Principal Darryl Hogue, Counselor Kaye Obalil, student parents and Recording Secretary Wendy Krajnovich.

High School Clock System and Pending Bids

A discussion was held regarding replacement of the high school clock system which has not been working correctly since November. Dr. Ware was directed to purchase battery operated clocks for the high school to be used temporarily. Further information on complete replacement of the clock/bell/intercom system will be available after next week’s Health/Life/Safety meeting with the architect.

Motion: Schlueter; Second: Forth; To enter into closed session for the purpose of discussion of student discipline matters. Ayes – Forth, Schlueter, Swanstrom, Tegeler, Boyles, Gray. Nays – none; motion carried.

RETURN FROM CLOSED SESSION

8:30 P.M.

Motion: Swanstrom; Second; Boyles; To conclude the closed session and return to open session. Ayes – 6; Nays – none; motion carried.

Motion: Boyles; Second: Schlueter; To expel Junior High School Student #211749-06 effective immediately through February 12, 2006.

Motion: Boyles; Second: Swanstrom; To expel Junior High School Student #211310-06 effective immediately through February 12, 2006.

Motion: Boyles; Second: Forth; To expel Junior High School Student #210470-06 effective immediately through February 12, 2006.
